Francesco Stella (b. 1962) is full professor of Medieval Latin Literature and Digital Philology at the University of Siena. He has been Head of the Dept. of Classics and Cultural Heritage, and is now director of the Center for Comparative Studies “I Deug-Su” and coordinator of the professional Master Program on Digital Edition. His 180 publications in 6 languages concern both comparative literature, and interpretation and edition (on paper and digital) of late antique and medieval Latin literature. He is editor of Corpus Rhythmorum Musicum (www.corimu.unisi.it, TMR European grant 1998-2000) and of the Archivio della Latinità italiana del Medioevo (alim.unisi.it). Collaborator of the Bayerische Akademie der Wissenschaften (Munich) 1986-87, invited speaker or scholar in many European and American universities, he managed international projects for philological application of computing, as well as the Italian-Korean research project Hagiographica Coreana.  He is member of the boards of some academic journals and societies in Italy, Europe, USA. Founder of Semicerchio. Rivista di poesia comparata, he is also director of the series «Scrittori latini dell’Europa medievale» (European Program Culture 2009).
